About GoStart
GoStart is an independent voluntary organisation which specialises in provision of accessible transport. We provide services for pensioners, people with disabilities, school children , other voluntary bodies, charities and registered not for profit organisations.
We currently own and operate five vehicles including two 16 seater mini buses , an 8 seater mini bus, and two five seater accessible MPVs. All of our vehicles are fitted with access ramps or platforms in order that passengers who need to travel in a wheel chair or have difficulty accessing a bus can be safely and comfortably accommodated .
We operate a week day door to door service within eight miles of Sudbury Town Centre using one of our mini buses. We also operate two smaller MPV vehicles which pick up passengers from same geographical area but can be booked for longer journeys which often involve trips to hospitals right across the county.
While much of the work we undertake involves older people we are not a “Bus Only For Elderly People” Our aim is to provide low cost transport services where we have identified a need which is not met by existing services. In fulfilling this aim we provide educational and activity transport for schools and social and activity transport for number of voluntary organisations based in the Sudbury area.
Our Objectives are to provide relief and help to the people of Sudbury in Suffolk and the surrounding area, especially those who have need because of age, mental or physical disability, poverty or social isolation, in particular but not exclusively by:
a) providing and maintaining non profit making community transport services
b) contributing to people’s mobility and working in the community in furtherance of the above
